Advice to My Younger Self: Darlene
Darlene reads a letter she has written to her younger self about dealing with her son’s drug addiction. She wonders how something like this could happen to good parents like her and husband. She tells herself that her pain will diminish each time she shares her son’s story, and not to worry about being judged by others. Darlene says she will learn in time that she is better able to support her son by avoiding trying to fix him.
